vWomen's suffrage goes into effect following Tennessee's ratification of the 19th amendment (Aug. 26).
vFactory worker Nicola Sacco and fish peddler Bartolomeo Vanzetti are picked up by police (May 5) in connection with an April 15 murder and robbery in South Braintree, Mass.
A bomb explodes in the J.P. Morgan bank building in New York City, killing 30 and injuring 200 (Sept. 16).
